When the new ventilation system has been installed it will give the club a fresh air flow well over that recommended by the Government and EIBA
Ventilation – Work to update the club ventilation system is due to commence on Monday 19th October 2020.
As an important part of managing against the transmission of COVID-19 the club ventilation system into the building will have been updated by the end of October to ensure a fresh air supply is provided to all areas of use.
If you wish to book a rink for Monday 2nd please Telephone (01803) 551075 to book in advance on Friday 30th October 2020 between 10am and midday when a Management Committee member will take your name and book you on a rink.
COVID- 19 -Please note if you have any symptoms listed e.g. persistent dry cough, temperature, loss of taste & smell then you should not enter the building.
Please use the Hand Sanitisers that are positioned at the entrance and various other places within the club, also signage to remind people to wash their hands.
Face coverings must be worn at all times except when in the Bowls arena and when seated in the Catering area.
NHS Track & Trace
When you arrive if you have the App on your smartphone please scan the QR poster located on the entrance door and keep left as you enter.

Please have your own biro to sign your name, telephone number
(GDPR compliant) in the file. Details will be held for 21 days which can be provided to NHS Track & Trace.
Please come dressed ready to play and change to bowling shoes 15 minutes before the game. You can place your belongings in the bowls arena where most seats have been taken out thus allowing space at the entrance end of the green.
Payment – The fee of £2.00 cash will be collected at the end of each rink prior to commencement of the session. Please help the club by having the correct rink fee.
Cleaning – There will be regular cleaning/ disinfectant schedule re toilets, jacks mats, door handles etc.
On each rink players must be 2 metres apart (Social distancing) and walk up and down at the marked edge of the green. A maximum of 18 players (6 per rink) will be allowed on the green per session.
Only Full members who have paid the £65.00 fee will be allowed to use the bowling green. Social members who wish to change to Full membership will need to pay the difference of £59 will then be eligible to play.
Changing Rooms & Lockers – The club can plan for limited use of lockers which are in the same changing room area as the toilets. This will need to be closely monitored as to the number of members using the area at any one time.
Toilets – Consideration as to how many people can enter the toilets at any one time will be strictly monitored.
Rink Bookings – Can be made by telephone (Club 01803 551075) or booked via the weekly sheets placed on the shelf near the telephone. You may book one session in advance by placing your name in the appropriate column at the date and time of your choice. You may book again after you have played your session. When booking via the telephone please ask for John Read (House Manager) or Karen/Malcolm Mushing (Caterers).
Any players having completed their game and wish to have food – Please queue behind the line by the arena exit door. Please use face coverings until Malcolm/Karen are able to sit you at a table. No more than 6 persons allowed per table. You may well be advised to book your refreshment before you play your game.
Coaching – To be reviewed December 2020.
Lockers – Malcolm/Karen will issue lockers with key for £4.00.
In addition to the authorised total of 18 using the arena a further 30 members (seated of course) are authorised to use the catering facilities at any one time. ( in Compliance with Government regulations).
Bowling Sessions :- Monday to Friday there will be 3 sessions per day.
9.00 am until 11 am , 12 noon until 2.00 pm, 3.00 p.m until 5.00 pm.
On Tuesdays & Thursdays there will be evening sessions 6.30 pm until 8.30 pm
Saturdays roll ups 10.00 a.m until 12.00 noon.
Mixed Triples League – A number of members have expressed a wish for a competitive Mixed Triples League. The Committee is happy to consider this after Christmas 2020. Nomination sheets will be placed probably in December for those interested to put their names on the form.
Sunday Lunches – Malcolm and Karen will be cooking the very popular Sunday lunches every other Sunday. Booking sheets are placed on the wall near to the changing rooms. Early booking is advised.
